Saffron Health Centre, Leicester - RENOLIT

We started at the end of February, it was not an easy project with two pitched roofs in the ice and rain which was the first of many challenges.  

The roof was decked with 18mm ply wood which was intended to be covered with Kingspan insulation to a depth of 180mm, however, due to ventilation and potential condensation issues, the depth of the external insulation was halved and at the same time some internal insulation was installed 

The finishing membrane is fully adhered Renolit Alkorplan fleece backed membrane in lead grey with a 50mm overlap to adjacent strip of membrane.

Photovoltaic panels were installed by others, however, we were instrumental in the co-ordination and weatherproofing of the pucks on which the panel system was fixed.

Nicholson Rooftrak system is an upcoming star with whom we have had the opportunity to work with twice in the last three months.  We sent a roll or two of our membrane, as per roof finish, to Nicholson's warehouse and they adhered it their pucks all ready for installation and weatherproofing by ourselves. 

The lead grey, Renolit profiles were cut to length prior to being solvent welded to the new membrane at even distances apart, enhancing the overall finished appearance of the roof.

Renolit lightning conduction system designed by others. The Alkorplus Lightning Conductor tabs come in lead grey and are installed, as per plan, by solvent welding to the new membrane ready for the Lightning Conductor Organization to complete the installation by fitting the tape in place.
