Sacred Heart School, Hammersmith

completed in 2015, proved to be a challenging project.

Running the project isn't just about the work on site.  Ordering of materials  and its' safe storage as well as its' accessabiltiy to the workforce on site can be critical to the continuity and smooth running of any project.

Perforated steel decking for accoustic purposes was laid first and fixed to the steel structure.

Access hatches cut into the steel.  Next the whole would be laid with a fleece underlay over which the insulation would be fixed to the decking using fixings with Trocal covered washers. The Trocal membrane would then be rolled out and solvent welded to washers giving a superior, smooth finish with a long life with low maintenance.

This picture highlights the scale of the project.

The netting can be seen underneath the opening in front of the operative at work. Safety is paramount on any project regardless of the size of the project.

The insulation stacked in the background was laid out and mechanically fixed to steel deck suing trocal metal discs and self tapping screws, over which the single ply membrane was solvent welded to the washers, at laps and perimeter for a seamless, waterproof roofing solution.  All seams were heat checked and a seamsealant applied to all laps.
